About Tomomi

I’m a visual artist working across drawing, sculpture, and installation. I’m interested in overlooked, hidden, and forgotten stories and spaces, fleeting marks, and memories tied to places and objects. I examine what is present and absent, revealing what we often miss.

Through my practice, I ask: How do space, objects, and materials embody people's experience? How do memories and our unconscious affect sensory and emotional experiences? I respond to each site with these questions, using space and time to encourage people to reflect on the past, the present, and their surroundings. My site-responsive sculptural installations invite viewers to pause, notice, and connect with the unseen dimensions of their environment, and to explore boundaries among objects, spaces, and the self.

I hold a Graduate Diploma in Fine Art (Distinction) from City and Guilds of London Art School. My achievements include the Leverhulme Art Scholarship for MA study and the Lowes Dickinson Award for book cover artwork.

Having grown up in Japan, lived in Australia, and now residing and working in London, United Kingdom, my cross-cultural experience has shaped my tendency to bring diverse perspectives and media to my artwork.
